What Is a Slot?

slot

A slot is the position on a machine where a player inserts money or, in “ticket-in, ticket-out” machines, a paper ticket with a barcode. Symbols on the reels then move to rearrange themselves and stop at various positions to form combinations that earn the player credits based on a paytable. A slot can also refer to the period of time a television or radio programme is broadcast in, or to a specific time on a calendar.

A specialized table slot, the periodic slot is used to hold data that repeats over a specified time period. For example, monthly evaporation coefficients for a reservoir would be held in a periodic slot. A periodic slot can handle both regular and irregular timeseries, and can have either text or numeric column headings. The user can configure the number of years to repeat for the data in a particular slot, and the resulting timeseries can be sorted and interpolated with ease.

When a scalar slot has a compression mode configured, the scalar value can be changed by pressing the Set Reference Value button in the Compression Mode menu. This will open a dialog to allow the user to enter a new value for the scalar, which will then be displayed in the Compression Mode menu as the selected option. The value can be configured to use either a user-defined arithmetic expression or to be a fixed number (see Units for more information).

Some table slots allow columns to be appended or deleted together. This is useful when a table has multiple unrelated data sets, or when the number of values in one column exceeds a certain limit (for example, the maximum amount of data that can be stored in a 2D slot). This type of slot requires monotonically increasing values in its first column and cannot be reconfigured during simulation without deleting and re-inputting its data set.

A movable WR that usually lines up in between the TE and Z recievers. This guy has to be super quick and shifty so he can run routes like slants, switch routes, or cross routes that require him to be able to break away from linebackers. This is normally the best receiver on the team, and the WR that can make the opposing CBs uncomfortable.
