Why Attend a Blog Conference?

Sometimes it’s hard to just go on with your day when there is so much happening in the world (like the Nepal earthquake…my heart goes out to all of them); Bruce Jenner interview (kudos to him for doing what’s in his heart and for living in his own truth); another black man killed by the police (I pray for lives lost too soon and police lives); and all the other craziness in the news.  As much as events in the world are depressing sometimes, it’s important to remember that life goes on.

Happy Monday…it’s all about talking about blogging and conference this morning.

I have always wanted to attend a blog conference and initially I thought it might not be worth it.  But the more I blog…the more I realize how fun it is and how blogging can become a way to parlay my interests into a business?

I am still figuring out my interests and what a better way to do this by attending a blog conference.  Conferences are one of those places to go and get and be inspired and I am hopeful that my first blog conference will do this for me.

I want to be able to live and breathe my interests and passion and hopefully immerse it into my life’s work…people who are passionate about what they do drives me to want to be in the same boat.

The idea of just blogging as my life’s work is definitely something that I don’t think I can do.  My lifestyle doesn’t necessarily allow me to be an open book…ie: my husband is a private person and we don’t want to share our everyday lives the way a true lifestyle blogger shares their life.  As much as I wanted to be able to do this…it’s just not feasible.  But I still love to write and share and blog about it.

Therefore, I am hoping that by going to the conference, I can solidify my interests and passions and immerse it into my blog.  And what a better place to attend my first conference but in New York City, the city of opportunities.

I cannot wait to immerse myself in all the learning that will occur; all the people that I will meet; all the skills I will garner.  And just to be in a room full of like-minded people is magical…I can’t wait.

It’s going to be a fun time this summer in the city.

Sounds like a great opportunity, and a fun one, too! I’ve yet to attend a blog conference, but would love to do it someday.

Cool! Sounds like a really fun opportunity to learn and connect with other people that love to do the same thing you do. NYC!! I have never considered a blog conference. It would be fun to hang around other bloggers for once though!!
