Ranting & Raving Thursdays: Dear Mom

DISCLAIMER: i love my mother always!

But just sometimes the woman drives me BANANAS!  I know i am probably not alone on this topic of RANTING AND RAVING  THURSDAY for which i am glad because i felt like it needed to be written.  So i didn’t really grow up with my mom, my older sister raised me, so i never really had the day-to-day contact that most children have with their mother.  An older sister raising you is different than your mom raising you.  Needless to say, my mother and i have always had a very close relationship and as i have gotten older, our relationship has changed and matured in a nice manner.  Probably one of the reasons our relationships was so matured is because my mother lived FAR AWAY.  But recently she has moved somewhat closer and i love the fact that she is close but now i am realizing the little pickings that mothers do including the demanding ways in which they request for things.  My mother will call me on my cell phone a million times if she needs something urgently and if i don’t respond, she will call Mr. Pancakes phone to ask where I am.
But I am writing an open letter to my mommy just to rant and rave today!
Dear Ma,
I love you BUT I find it irritating when you treat me like I am five instead of almost thirty something. I love you but I don’t want to be running around town all the time getting things you need. I love you but I hate it when you tell me what to to, when to do and why to do! Please allow me to be me! This might sound mean but i’ve frustrated. End of letter period!
Sincerely your daughter, Miss Pancakes!
I come from a family world where the adult is always right. The crazy thing is that I am NOW an adult but still the child in the eyes of the older adults in the family.  At some point parents should be back to take a step back and allow their children to just be! I love my mom but man there are times I just want to (imagine me wringing my hand around someone’s neck)…! But really I love my mom more than life itself not only because she gave me life but because she is my life! But this is Ranting and Raving Thursday and I needed to rant a little bit about my dear Ma.  She will still tell me what to do, have me ride around town getting stuff for her and she will still be the adult of me. But we will love, laugh and live as well.  And I will still rant and rave (I will try and only do it on Thursday).  Thank you for allowing me to rant and rave on this rainy yet beautiful thursday!
