#Project Milf 2014: Something New

This past month was eventful because we did something out of the ordinary.  We follow a very strict evening schedule during the week, after work, i workout, go home, play a little, start dinner or find something for us to eat (if Mr. Pancakes hasn’t cooked already), eat dinner, start bathe time, play a little bit more, read, cuddle, bedtime, some free time for myself or between Mr. Pancakes and I.  Usually it’s light outs by 11PM.  But a few days before Valentine’s Day, we decided to do something different which is relevant to my 2014 #ProjectMilf goals of trying something new every single month.

Mr. Pancakes’ cousin is currently living out her dream of becoming a chef.  So she is in culinary program and invited us to come watch her cook and also enjoy the meals she prepared at her school.  Their evening service begins at 7:30PM, which is bedtime for Baby Pancakes and usually a winding down period for us.  But of course we love her and want to support her dreams.  So we ditched the routine, bundled up our baby and took the train into Virginia to watch her cook and enjoy ourselves.

We got there just before 8:30PM because clearly we are not train people and also not good with telling time.  But nevertheless, we got there just in time for all the festivities.  We felt like royalty that evening because we were one of two families at the restaurant.  We were able to watch her cook through the cooking glass and i felt like i was on an episode of Master Chef without all the cursing.  It was just awesome to observe her in her elements…she came out to visit with us, to take pictures, we congratulated her and told her how proud we were of her.  She is definitely a Motivating Inspiring Leading Female.

We ate, laughed, Baby Pancakes got to go inside the kitchen with the director, it was a great evening.  We didn’t get home until after 12:30AM.  We met crazy people on the train on the way home.  It was cold, we were all tired but at the end of the way, we were glad to help celebrate our cousin living out her dreams and that was worth it.   We were also able to spend some quality fun time as a family.  Bless Baby Pancakes’ heart for being able to hang with his parents!!!

We ate fancy appetizers like: quinoa stuffed squid and Orange Scented Lentil Soup.

For the main dish, i had Chicken Cassoulet, it was so good!! It had white beans, kale, caramelized onions, squash

Mr. Pancakes had Duo of Pork, seared lion and crispy belly grits, egg, and picked jalapenos.

It was a great night…i would highly recommend checking out an evening at a culinary program in your community.  The students put their hearts and soul into their cooking, prices are affordable and they treat you real nice too!

This month of trying something new was awesome! I can’t wait to see what next month has to offer in #ProjectMilf 2014.

This is just so awesome! Congrats to your cousin for living out her dream!
The trains get a little “special” after 6pm. I almost always opt to drive if I can after that time. Glad you were all safe though and had a great time!

Wow! What a treat. Good for her to follow her dreams and good for you all to support her! That food looks amazing and the fact that you nearly had the place to yourselves with a bird’s eye view, makes it really special.

  3. How fun!! Our weekday nights are pretty boring too normally. With work looming in the morning it just isn’t practical by the time you get off work. It’s hard to break the cycle but it’s good you got out even if was going to be a late night. The culinary school at the community college where I work is excellent!
