There were marches all around the globe and it was so emotional just thinking that all these people were coming together because of one person’s believes related to hatred and deceit. More of us should come together first out of love and not because of out of hate.
Anyway, I heard so many different things on social media about why women were marching in Washington against the policies and rhetoric of Trump, who is now the president of the United States.
However, regardless of all the different things, i honestly believe that masses of women coming together united against ugly and offensive rhetoric is a powerful gesture. Whether it is women of color or white women who were the organizers of the Women’s March, in the end, i honestly don’t think it matters because the biggest thing was that women and girls and men who care about what happens in this nation/world came together united for the common good.
Sometimes it doesn’t matter who started the fire, what matters is when you see your neighbor’s house burning, call for help. Even if that neighbor started the fire themselves, if you don’t call for help, your house will burn too. We all have to be our brother and our sister’s keeper.
Today i celebrate the power of women and what is most powerful is women coming together. Here’s the celebrating the power of the pink hats in Washington, DC in 2017! Here’s to more of us (women of all color and creed) coming together again and again to fight for justice and equality for all.
