Mommylogues: Baby Girl

Mothering two children has been an adventure so far.  It’s been everything i thought it would be and so much more!  Here are a few thoughts on mothering two babies (i haven’t been able to blog as much as i would like).

The cuddles and snuggles are the best and even better is when Baby Pancakes and Baby Girl (BG) are all curled up with me.  Nothing better than knowing that together, Mr. Pancakes and I created these two amazing babies.  It’s still mind blowing.  And when all four of us are together it’s like magic.  It feels so good knowing that our family is now complete.  I have been trying to be in the moment and not think about how crazy things are going to get when i return to work.  How early I have to get up and how little time we will have together during the weekday…instead I’ve just been enjoying being at home and spending quality time with BG and Baby Pancakes and Mr. Pancakes.

Most of my days are filled with obviously meeting Baby Girl’s needs and wants…she cries and i am there.  Some days are all about cuddling and that’s perfectly alright.  I had chores to do after the holidays but all that had to wait.   If i can take a bath before 5pm, then I’ve had a successful day.

BG is a delight and so sweet.  She has the curliest hair, chubbiest cheeks and biggest brown eyes and they just stare at me and i melt.  She is so alert and curious.  And can i say adorable beyond words…it’s great hearing others say she looks like me.  I cant wait to see how she changes over the next few weeks.  Watching her grow is amazing because I’ve been comparing her growth to Baby Pancakes and although they look similar, they are still very very different.

I’ve been having fun putting some of Baby Pancakes’ onesies on her and taking pictures. Baby Pancakes LOVES his sister and is always giving her kisses.  He is adjusting and although the first few weeks were challenging, he has become much better.  I have been giving him some one-to-one time when he gets home and being extra patient and giving him more kisses as the day goes by.  But all in all, we’ve been doing well.

It’s such a blessing being a mommy.  She is truly precious and the thought of having any other child would just not be right.  She fits in perfectly with Team Pancakes…only time will tell if she enjoys pancakes!
