Babylogues: Year One

Happy 1st Birthday to Baby Pancakes. I can’t believe it’s been one year, 365 days, 8760 hours since the second you came into this world.  Our world has been forever changed for the better since you entered it and we are so grateful for all the experiences we get to share with you.  You are just a joy to have around.  And your smile definitely lights up our world.  We love you to the moon and back a gazillion times!!

Here’s what we’ve been up to in the last year:

Month 1:  you came home from the hospital after a few days in the NICU and it was surreal to have you with us every single day.

Month 2: You love sleeping on daddy’s chest and you would just cuddle for hours and hours.  You got your passport.

Month 3: You started holding your neck up more and more.  You started becoming more aware of your surroundings.

Month 4: We traveled to Canada for the first time and you did such an awesome job. We had your first Christmas.

Month 5: You were dedicated at church.  It was a fun celebration with all the people that love you the most. You started sitting up and being more independent.  One day we found you standing up in your crib.  We were shocked.

Month 6: You started crawling and pulling up to stand.  You love to play around with everything but your toys.

Month 7: Taking pictures of you with the stickers was nearly impossible.  We moved.  You started eating more fruits and veggies made in the baby bullet.  You started getting off the bed on your own.

Month 8: You started taking steps.  Trying more foods.  Wearing shoes.  Sleeping on your own…sometimes.  Mommy braided your hair for fun.  We took a tour of DC.

Month 9: You started walking officially.  We celebrated mother’s day.  You got me the best gift ever.  You would sleep in your crib sometimes.  You started climbing things–couch, bed, dishwasher.  We went to the basketball game for father’s day.  You loved it.   You started swimming lessons.  We went to the beach for daddy’s birthday.  You just stopped nursing.

Month 10: You had four teeth.  Your fun personality started becoming more visible.  You started to become way more active than we anticipated at this age.  We went to the Great Falls for a hike…lots of fun.  You loved riding on daddy’s shoulders.  You transitioned into size 4 diapers.  You started saying “mmmmm” when you wanted something to eat.

Month 11: You started sleeping longer and better in our bed.  You started using your sippy cup.  You are basically running now.  You love to play and laugh.  You love games on the iPad.  You ate some pancakes and liked it.  You started saying “dada.”   You learned how to respond when we ask you “how old are you?” by raising your fingers and hand!

Month 12: You love going to the park…playing on the slides and exploring.  You love going to the library to play.  You know what to do when we say “touchdown.”  You love watching cartoons especially “Curious George.”
